Marc Jacobs Beauty Launches Coffee Inspired Collection
How original. I’m not being facetious, I really think this is a cute idea for a new collection heading into spring. Maybe it’s my love of coffee, or that I haven’t seen this angle before, but I really like the optics of the new Cafe Marc Collection. It reminds me of springtime in Paris. You know a piping hot cup of cafe au lait, a croissant or a scone at a sidewalk cafe. The sun is shining. You have your newspaper or better yet a magazine filling your mind with information you swear you need, but will forget the moment you get up. Your hair is flowing in the wind. Chanel shades dawn your fresh face and glowy skin. Can’t forget the white button-up and lip gloss. The perfect lip gloss. It moisturizes, it’s hydrating and glossy. No matter how many sips you take it’s perfect. Birds chirping. HONK! HONK! BEEP! Birds chirping. The sounds of the city.
Back to reality: I’ve never been to Paris and subsequently never did any of those things in Paris, but a girl can dream. I’ve had that same recurring daydream my whole life. And while it’ll happen one day, that’s not the point of this post. Any product, imagery, campaign that inspires me to daydream and believe has me sold! After all, that is the exact point of advertising and campaigns — to make the viewer believe they too can experience what they’re seeing or they too can be “it.”
The Cafe Marc Collection features the Extra Shot Caffeine Concealer & Foundation, which comes in 30 shades. It is infused with caffeine, oat extract and five forms of coconut. The brand says it’s full coverage, longwear, crease-resistant and has a natural finish. There’s also the O!Mega x Palette comprising bronzer, highlighter and blush in two shades: Tantastic and Tantalize.
It wouldn’t be a Marc Jacobs Beauty release without new eye pencils. The Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayon comes in three shades: Blacquer Coffee, Blacquer Emerald and Blacquer Currant.
