A monthly feature highlighting my favorite things from the kitchen to the closet. It’s aptly named The S-List, an ode to Oprah’s The O List. Cheers.
The S-List: Candles, Pumpkins, Essential Oil & More!
Huntington Home Soy Blend Scented Candle in ‘First Snow,’ In-store at Aldi
I have so many of these Huntington Home candles because they are simply amazing. Factoring in the size and the awesome price of $3.99 you can’t beat it. These are comparable in size to the three-wick candles you find at Bath & Body Works and they smell just as good. The only negative is the selection is small, but I find that Aldi restocks these pretty regularly.
Crofton Cheese Knife Set, In-store at Aldi
Another pick up from Aldi. This little knife set is so cute with its faux marble handles. I had to have it especially for the great price of $4.99.
Protip: Aldi has sooo many different types of cheeses, along with really interesting seasonal varieties. They’re perfect for holiday gatherings and a tasty charcuterie board.
I recently had knotless braids and towards the end of having the style, my scalp was wrecked. It was dry, and itchy and I knew I needed something to give my scalp extra attention that I could use on a daily basis. I decided to give this product a try and it instantly became a new fave! It’s light and penetrating — the rosemary and mint really open up the hair follicles on your crown. It feels like your scalp is taking a deep breath. Love it.
If you’re a coffee lover like myself then a great cup can set the tone for an amazingly productive day or the complete opposite. The right coffee grounds and a really good coffee maker can make all the difference. This machine has so many details that really contribute to a great taste like a water filter, optimum smart technology and the carafe keeps coffee hot for hours. I also love the sleek stainless steel look!
Bonsai Exotics Ginseng Plant, In-store Aldi
I’ve wanted to buy a real plant for some time and I finally did with this cute little Bonsai plant I found at Aldi [of course] for about $7.99. I’ve always loved Bonsai plants because they symbolize harmony, peace, an order of thoughts, balance and all that is good in nature. So when I saw this I had to have it. I tend to forget it’s there *hides in shame* but I love the look of it and definitely plan to get more. They’re pretty low maintenance and a great option to get your feet wet with plants.
Essential oils are great for many different uses including the shower! When I feel like I have the sniffles, sinus pressure or I just want to have a spa-like moment at home I grab this. A couple or several drops in the shower paired with the steam gets you all the many benefits of peppermint oil. Protip: Great mood booster, helps to relax and destress.
Assorted Pumpkins, In-store at HomeGoods
It’s pumpkin season and I love that I can have these on display all of October and November. HomeGoods like any other decor store have so many different types of pumpkins and not just the traditional orange molds. I love these pictured above because it has an elevated look, blends in easily with the decor and it’s simply eye-catching.
